And online polling are managed by Communications. As L&D, we are trying to work with them to get our content up there, but they don’t follow social media best practices such as allowing people’s posts to be seen instantaneously (in some cases it takes over a week before they approve a post). Also, there aren’t any clear disgnated discussion moderators or content experts that can help answer questions or filter out questions to the right people. So, questions and comments will be sitting out there unanswered for months. However, it does seem to be appropriate for Communcationd to own this function, it would be too much to bear for our lean L&D department to own and moderate such a huge network. But I think if we collaborate better across functions, our L&D skill set could greatly enhance the value and usage of the tool for the company.
