The point is not to think that just jotting information down is sufficient, and that there are necessary (new) skills, and that performance support should also require trial and refinement. However, it could and should be cheaper than course development, but don’t think that a post-it is automatically sufficient. So, yes, ‘shouldn’t be done on the cheap’ is exactly right. Thanks, both!

It’s that placing the focus (and your investments) on performing support is more cost-effective in the bigger picture than spending most of your training/performance budget on formal learning.
