William, thanks for the feedback. There isn’t a menu, because it’s really just a list of blog posts. I could have excerpts (except I didn’t do that from the get-go, and I don’t want to go back and retrofit hundreds of posts). Thinking from your perspective, I did put the search up higher. So far, I’m mostly replicating the site as it was, but in the new theme. And that’s why the month/year (the only option) is still consecutive. There is a dropdown version available, but it’s just a version of the existing scheme (month/year; so it only saves space). I note that on mobile (e.g. no sidebar), there’s nothing beyond it, so it doesn’t really give an advantage. Thanks for weighing in, and will continue to tweak!

I can get to a lot of different components of you site, but it would be nice to have a means of jumping directly rather than having to scroll. One suggestion might be a floating menu bar at the bottom of the screen that is always on top.

In addition I find the links for all the month year combinations annoying. Perhaps use an according layout with the top level years and months below that. Alternatively, two drop down menus, one for month and one for year. Contact me if you would like to discuss it further.
