Because that seems to be how buzzwords work; their popularity stems from over-simplicity and exchanging jumping on a bandwagon for actual thoughtful work.

Sorry; I’m a bit dark about buzzwords. The tech industry is infested with love for them and it drives me a bit mad sometimes…
