[…] Etienne Wenger-Trayner Keynote Mindmap-Â Clark Quinn, November 18, 2011 […]
Mark Notess says
Clark, is the concept map something you created as part of your note-taking on Wenger’s talk, or is it something he presented?
Clark says
Mark, I create this as I listen (so not something he presented). I do it as a way to pay better attention (a small cognitive load keeps my mind from wandering too badly and missing something). Don’t know if they make sense to anyone not in attendance, but share in case they do or are good reminders for those who do attend. My Inference of the structure is easier when the talks are well-structured, and are suspect in some other cases (e.g. this one :), and sometime I use their words and sometimes I paraphrase or condense. FWIW
Stephanie Fillman says
Clark, this is very helpful. I’m a big fan of mind maps for learning multiple key concepts. I’m looking at starting up two CoPs next year and will keep this map handy. Thanks for sharing!
